These are real flower petals. Preserved petals are not 100% natural - they go through a process which removes the water content of the petals and replaces it with glycerine. It gives a much softer feel to the petals in comparison to dried - they almost feel like fresh petals to touch. Preserved petals do have dyes added to achieve the colour. The process does result in a heavier-weight petal, so they will fall differently to the lighter-weight freeze-dried petals when thrown.
